Okay so this is an issue that I am very passionate about, but haven’t really taken any action against protecting… NET NEUTRALITY. There are huge corporations like VIRGIN that want to commercialize the internet… not just posting too many popups and things like that, but actually limiting access and speeds of access to certain sites if you are with a certain provider. I personally think this is ludacris… I mean, the internet is the World Wide Web. It connects everyone, in everyway, and it is a place where anyone can post anything and see whatever they want, withough guidelines, and without the FCC breathing down their neck. But now corporations are trying to threaten that.

I frequent a youtube channel called AtheneWins. Its this crazy World Of Warcraft player with a reality show about how it is to be a professional gamer. Well, they have made a website called IPower, and on that website they have posted this video below. Don’t mind the picture of the girl… that’s just to get views… but seriously WATCH IT, it explains everything that is going on with this fight of Net Neutrality very well.

So now you understand, we have to defend Net Neutrality. If we don’t the internet will become just like the rest of the world… commercialized.

So I thought that I would make a posting telling you all about how I really got going and got all my inspiration and all that crap, but I just figured, I’m lazy and have things to do, but what I will give you is a link to a ton of places that have helped me AMAZINGLY and will give you tons of information to make some freaking sweet stuff in AE, 3D apps, Zaxwerks, or whatever.

If you wanna make some killer stuff like you see in movies… this is the place to do it. Andrew Kramer really shows you how versatile After Effects really is.

John Dickinson pretty much is one of the best I have seen at teaching how Zaxwerks plugins really work and covers the basics in his free tutorial section… also check out his Making It Look Great Series… damn. New ones are coming out in a week!

This has everything on ANYTHING you need to know… just peruse.

Those are my faves, but there is also:

http://www.cineversity.com/Index.asp for C4D Resources
http://aefreemart.com/ for tons of free AE stuff
http://maltaannon.com/ more AE tutorials
http://www.ayatoweb.com/ae_tips_e.html more AE tutorials
http://generalspecialist.com/2007/10/cinema-4d-resources.asp a link to MORE C4D resources (I’m lazy)

So yeah… check those out if you want to get going in either C4D or AE, because seeing what cool stuff you can actually make with just these two apps… makes you feel like you can do ANYTHING.

Oh, and if you live in Tacoma or the surrounding area… remember we are shooting the Kane Hodder video at Supernova Hair and Tattoo at 4pm SHARP on Sunday April 13th 2008!

We are also going to be filming behind the scenes as well for a special I am gonna be editing after the video is done… so if you dont make it into the music video perhaps you will get on the making of!

Toph.

So the details have been finalized… and I am going to be producing the new Kane Hodder music video for the song “Siberia 1908″! Yeah, I know… it’s AWESOME. Although this is my first REAL music video shoot… I have a great feeling about it. I got my good friend Mike Crews as the DOP shooting the video on his Sony VX2100 and I am going to be directing and in charge of post production.

We are shooting APRIL 13th 2008 @ 4:00pm at Supernova Hair and Tattoo. Address is 817 Division Avenue in Tacoma, Wa 98403. We need around 60 people to be in the video because its going to be a live based video… so if you want to come and rock your ass off and be a part of musical history. LET ME KNOW! Email me at welshcs@gmail.com

For the last couple weeks I have been trying to extend out ALL of my feelers for video work because I got laid off from www.scout.com. I called up my dawg from XIL Records, Levi Lyon seeing if he had any bands that needed video done. I also called up my old instructor from Clover Park to see if he had any leads on any jobs. He told me that Emerald Downs is gonna be hiring for a ton of positions including Camera Operators, Chyron Operators, and Avid Editors. I went in to Emerald Downs and met with Wes (the main dude) and he showed me around. I went in the week after that, to learn the basics of Chyron, so hopefully to get the job doing that… and then I hoped for the best. Well I got a phone call from Wes yesterday offering me a job as a Camera Operator in the main area where the winners circle is. He told me I might be able to work into some other positions as well…

So yeah… I am back in the biz and I can quit that horrid job at the warehouse working 13 hour days for 10 an hour. BLAH.

There is also some stuff in the works with XIL Records, but I won’t say anything yet… I am actually meeting with him in a couple of hours… but I will keep you all updated. Until then… PEACE….

So I just agot back from the Adobe Maxon Power of Integration Tour 2008… and damn, that was a lot to take in. Pretty much what it was about is integrating both Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects to use in real world situations… it was pretty awesome… I mean the dude from Maxon completely made a freaking 97 story building build itself from the ground up being made up of particles in like 20 minutes.

They also showed us all of the features of the Adobe Production Premium Suite CS3 and showed us how to integrate all of those features as well to better our workflow.

OH…. and the food was ridiculously amazing too. Hahaha pizza and gourmet cheeses and desserts… freaking awesome. Seriously next year when it comes around to your town…. GO! or if it hasn’t hit your town yet… make sure you are there…

It was the perfect boost and just the right amount of information for me to feel comfortable jumping into the Cinema 4D interface, because there is sooooo much to it.

So yeah, bottom line… if you don’t care about After Effects or Cinema 4D, just go for the food… because it is freaking awesome.

So the Toe-Fur Productions production crew is at it again… and in the running for a $5,000 dollar prize, and a possible $20,000 prize if it makes it onto television!

The contest is the XLNTads 100 Grand video contest. We shot for two hours at the Graf Garage in Tacoma, Washington, which by the way is now painted over…
